The regeneration of the former Tecnocentro of the Cassa di Risparmio di Bologna in Casalecchio di Reno was designed and implemented by Open Project srl with the aim of creating a modern business center capable of offering functional and flexible work spaces within high-quality spaces. ICS took part in this project taking care of and developing the fire prevention desing.
Thanks to convenient access to the highway network and the presence of public transportation, it is excellently connected to both airport and Bologna high-speed train station. The complex of about 23,000 square meters, created with a light industrial vocation, underwent a radical functional transformation in the mid-1980s by architect Vico Magistretti, who converted the industrial warehouse to IT and tertiary technology functions for use by a well-known bank. The renovation project of the complex, carried out in 2017, involved the entire cover, the modernization of modular structures in accordance with the tenants needs, and the creation of green areas, ensuring maximum working environment livability while safeguarding the most valuable architectural aspects.
The greenery and amenities make this complex an innovative place where life and work are in constant balance. Finally, great attention was paid to the energy improvement of the entire complex through the replacement of microclimate control systems. Today, the Worklife Innovation Hub hosts within it a rapidly expanding community of high-tech companies that have set up their head quarters there, guaranteeing them common support services such as cafeteria, canteen, auditorium, archives, dedicated green areas and numerous parking lots.
